There you are dusting off the valve covers and daydreaming about driving through the twisties. But you notice something that cuts your daydream short. You have cracked fuel injector mounts. A common problem that will eventually happen to every Z with plastic mounts. That’s because, while the plastic is great at resisting heat due to it’s low thermal conductivity. It can’t handle the thermal cycle stresses over time, and they will all eventually fail. And the problem with metal mounts is they can heat up quick because they have high thermal conductivity which can make the heat soak issues these cars are known for even worse. But what if you can have both, the low thermal conductive characteristics of plastic mounts with the robustness of metal mounts. Well now you can, our mounts are machined from a solid block of 6061 aluminum. And to beat the heat we use a combination of an ultra low thermal conductive PTFE gasket. And a Cerakote ceramic coating to create an outstanding thermal barrier to resist heat soaking up from the engine. See Picture above to see how it compares to the factory mount.
